MATCH 1

• Final Score: Carroll Lynx 3 – Anne Arundel Riverhawks 2    (25-16, 21-25, 25-16, 22-25, 17-15)

• The Short Story: The Carroll Lynx were given a tough test from Anne Arundel, ultimately finding a way to grab a hard fought five-set win.

HOW IT HAPPENED

• The Lynx went behind 8-4 in the first set before going on a 14-2 run to take control and closed it out with a big swing from Miriam Zuazo to get the first set.
• The second set saw the two teams trade points back and forth, but it was the Riverhawks who were able to win the final four points to take the set.
• Anne Arundel won the first four points of set three, but Carroll responded with a 10-point run for an easy victory.
• Once again the Riverhawks fought back, winning set four to tie the match and send it to another five-set match.
• The Lynx fell behind early, but went on a 7-0 run to give them four match points. The Riverhawks fought back to tie it at 15-15, but back-to-back kills by Emily McElwaine closed out the match for Carroll.

GAME NOTES

• Karley Badorf had another monster game with 26 kills and 27 digs to lead the team.
• McElwaine hit for 18 kills and 5.5 blocks in a huge game for the freshman middle hitter.  
• Hannah Breen, Lauren Guariglia, and Miriam Zuazo all had four kills each.
• Micaela Adami and Abigail Morley split the setting duties and were equally effective with 28 and 23 assists respectively.

MATCH 2

• Final Score: Carroll Lynx 0 – Allegany College of Maryland Trojans 3  (25-17, 25-12, 25-17)
• Records: Carroll 9-8  |  Allegany 12-3
• Location:  Hampstead, MD – Coppermine PantherPlex
• The Short Story: The Carroll Lynx were unable to pull off an upset as the Allegany Trojans won the match in straight sets.

HOW IT HAPPENED

• The Lynx stayed with the Trojans early but lost the last six points of the set to fall behind.
• The second set saw Allegany jump out to an early lead and never let go of it as they completed the sweep with a strong third set.

GAME NOTES

• Badorf hit for a team high 11 kills, 9 digs, and 4 aces. She now leads the region in kills and is fourth in digs.
• McElwaine slammed eight kills with a block while Zuazo added three kills.
• Adami led the team with 12 assists and matched Sophia DiMaggio with eight digs each.

UP NEXT

• The Lynx will play their final regular season match on Wednesday, October 16 starting at 6 PM as they host the Baltimore City Community College Panthers.
• The Panthers are 0-8 on the season and 0-5 in regional play.
