Rich Excited About Javelin Throw

Men's Track and Field

Lynx Congratulate Two-Time Region Champion

COLUMBIA, MD - Friday morning, with the wind blowing the rain almost sideways, Logan Rich stood at the end of the runway preparing for the last of his 6 throws in the javelin. He was the defending Regional Champion but he was currently in second place. It would have been easy to give in to the harsh conditions and the strong competition and just think, "It's just not my day." But, Logan focused on a smooth approach and perfectly timed his throw. The javelin landed 149 feet away; enough to win by 6 feet.

Saturday, Logan left no doubt in the discus throw as he took command from the start and repeated as NJCAA Region 20 Discus Champion.

In his 2 seasons with the Lynx Track & Field team, Logan was Regional Champion 4 times in the javelin and discus. Logan's consistency, hard work, and confidence has paid off with amazing success. Logan is now ranked 25th in the national NJCAA rankings. He just keeps getting better.

Overall, the Lynx women finished in 3rd place in the team standings and the men finished 4th.

The Lynx compete again on Wednesday, April 16 at York College in Pennsylvania.
