TOWSON, MD - The Towson Invitational attracted some of the mid Atlantic's areas strongest NCAA Division 1 Track & Field Programs. Temple, Delaware State, Mount Saint Mary's, Morgan State, UMBC and Coppin State were among the 17 Colleges competing.
It is safe to say the crowd at Johnny Unitas Stadium did not expect to see Carroll Community College at the top the leaderboard, but there it was:Â
"Men's Javelin, 1st Place, Logan Rich, Carroll Community College". To prove that Logan's victory was not a fluke, the Lynx took two of the top three places in the javelin with
Caydon Selmer finishing in third place. Carroll was the only Community College to win an event.
Â
Over the two day meet, the Lynx produced 5 School Records:
Carrie Moore in the Women's 100-meter hurdles
Brooke Pribulick in the Women's 400 meters
Joeseph Roebuck in the Men's 110 meter hurdles
Logan Rich in the Men's Discus
Alexander Nicolaides in the Men's Triple Jump
Â
All of the Lynx contributed to the team's successful showing with more than 10 All Time Personal Best's. Of particular note was
Kat Crochunis' effort in the pole vault. Her vault of 9 feet, 8 inches places her 16
th nationally among junior college athletes and just 6 inches below qualifying height for the NJCAA National Championships. It was a great day to build on for the season.
The Lynx head to back to Towson University on Friday, April 4 for their next meet.Â
