Anne Arundel Community College hosted NJCAA Region 20's third event of the season at the South River Golf Club down on Solomon's Island near Annapolis, MD. Our starting 5 were matched once again against Anne Arundel, Hagerstown, and Southern Maryland. Leading the way,
Jamison Gouge provided his consistent play for another week of the season with an 84 to lead the way for the Lynx scoring with 2 birdies on the front. He was closely followed by
Micah Ozgar with a hard fought 87 finding 3 birdies of his own. Both
Jacob Gouge and
Hayden Brilhart posted respectable numbers and hit it well from tee to green, but found lower scoring a challenge in the cool and windy conditions. The conditions at South River that played a factor were on and off again winds gusting to over 20 MPH and cool temperatures which provided some challenges for the Lynx team. In addition, this was most of the team's first look at this venue and all of the team's first playing of the entire golf course as last season's match was rained out after nine holes.
Next week, the Lynx will travel to Chesapeake Hills for their 4th tournament on Monday, April 14 and will host the Region 20 two-day end of season tournament at Oakmont Golf Course in Hampstead, MD.
