Carl Delmont has been a involved with the Carroll County soccer community for more than 20 years. His coaching journey began in local recreation leagues and quickly advanced to travel, club, and academy-level programs, where he has consistently built successful female teams. Delmont’s tenure with Baltimore Celtic has been marked by exceptional achievement. He guided his teams to three consecutive Presidents Cup and Regional appearances from 2021–2023, an extraordinary and rare accomplishment at any level of the game. Over his coaching career, he has led teams to more than 70 tournament championships, stacking winning season upon winning season with remarkable consistency.
A passionate developer of talent, Delmont has helped more than 50 players move on to compete at the collegiate level across a range of divisions. He continues to coach at Baltimore Celtic after selling a portion of the club last year, with Celtic being recognized as Maryland’s premier soccer club and home to six National Championships. Baltimore Celtic became a founding member of both the ECNL Boys and Girls Academy programs, two of the top leagues in the country, under his leadership.
Delmont’s roots in the sport run deep. A lifelong player, he competed through college as a member of the inaugural men’s soccer team at Shepherd College. Coaching the inaugural Carroll women’s program now brings that experience full circle and adds special meaning to his leadership. During his first two seasons at the helm of the Lady Lynx, the program has reached new heights, earning the No. 4 playoff seed in both years, securing the first home playoff game, first home playoff victory, and first semifinal appearance in Carroll’s history.
In addition to his coaching accomplishments, Delmont is the Founder of Freemont Mortgage and serves as CEO and Managing Partner of the Harrisburg Heat.
