Lebanon, PA - The Lynx Cross Country Team took a huge step forward Saturday at Lebanon Valley College in the Dutchman Invitational on Saturday. Competing against (25) 4-year NCAA Division 1, 2, and 3 schools including Navy, Penn State-Abington, Bowie State, Lebanon Valley and Millersville, the men's team started the season in style finishing 13th of 26. Considering that the top 6 Lynx finishers were running in their first college cross country race, it really was amazing. To think that this same group will be back next year helps paint a brilliant picture of the future.
On the women's side, returning national contenderÂ
Caroline Vogelsang started her season by running just 10 seconds off of her school record set at the national championship last November.
Sienna Gaw,Â
Tori Williamson, and Alona Lakhmaniuk ran as a pack, finishing strong, all within 13 seconds of each other.
All 13 team members ran smart and left it all out on the course and the coaching staff couldn't have been happier.
The Lynx run again this Friday in the Shenandoah Twilight Classic at Shenandoah University.
