Joe Pratt

Joe Pratt returns for his fourth season as the Head Coach of Carroll Community College, where he has established himself as a proud and dedicated member of the Carroll athletics family. Since joining Carroll, Joe has brought a competitive edge, a player centered culture, and a deep commitment to what it means to represent the Lynx both on and off the field.

Joe began his coaching career as an Assistant Coach at CCBC Catonsville before moving to Frederick Community College, where he spent several seasons helping shape the soccer program. During the 2022 season, he guided FCC to a strong 12–5 record and an appearance in the Region 20 Championship, while also coaching five All Region players and NJCAA All American David Diaz. As Interim Head Coach in 2021, he led the Cougars to an 8–5 record and a Region 20 semifinal appearance, with eight sophomores moving on to four year universities. He also played a key role in FCC’s historic 2020–21 Region XX Division I Championship, contributing to one of the highest team GPAs in program history.

A former standout midfielder, Joe earned his bachelor’s degree in Sociology from UMBC, where he was part of the Retrievers’ 2014 America East Championship team that advanced to the NCAA Final Four. Before UMBC, he competed at Tyler Junior College in Texas, earning his AA degree and winning a National Championship.

In addition to his work at Carroll, Joe is a full time teacher at Glenwood Academy in Howard County and coaches with the Soccer Association of Columbia (SAC). He also serves as Head Coach of the Frederick Kings FC men’s UPSL team. Joe lives in Hartford County with his wife, Samantha, and their two Labrador Retrievers, Champ and Fin.
