RICHMOND, VA - For the first time in program history, a student-athlete from Carroll Community College will compete at the national level.
On Saturday, Caroline Vogelsang will become the first runner ever from Carroll to compete in the NJCAA Cross Country National Championship. Caroline's hard work is reflected in the fact that since the beginning of the season on August 1st, she has run nearly 500 miles in practice and competition.
Vogelsang has improved in every way throughout the season from her first meet where she in finished in 41st place to the regional championship where she took third. Vogelsang also finished second in the MD Juco conference as well as an impressive 4th place finish at the Coach Caslin Classic at Goucher College and a fifth place finish at the Charger Invitational at Lancaster Bible College.
The National Championship will be another opportunity for Caroline to push herself to the limit as she competes against 250 of the most accomplished community college runners from across the country. We are all very proud of Caroline and wish her the best of luck.
