In a game rescheduled from September, the Lynx fell to the CCBC-Essex Knights on Saturday, Oct. 16. The final score was 10-0.
According to Coach Tom O'Brien, "The Knights showed their quality early on and consistently." Despite playing good soccer at the outset, "Essex broke us down pretty quickly and did not look back."
The Knights scored six unanswered goals in the first half. Although the Lynx made some adjustments and played the second half hard, the Knights scored an additional four unanswered goals. They outshot Carroll 31 to 3 and led on corners 13 to 2.
The Knights were ranked third in the nation at the end of September. During the spring season (rescheduled due to COVID), the Knights were the national runners-up, falling to Southeastern in the national championship game.
The Lynx play their final home game of the season on Tuesday, Oct. 19 when they host Anne Arundel Community College. Game time is 4 p.m.
